Scope is an international exchange program that brings together Canadian and American Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Scouters for an extended weekend of fun and friendship. The program had its beginning in 1967 with Canada's Centennial celebrations and has continued ever since.
Canadians first visited the United States in 1967, as part of their celebration of Canada's Centennial Year. The following year, members of the newly-created Baden-Powell District joined their Canadian hosts for an encampment of 1,750 men and boys at Woodbridge, Ontario, in Boyd Conservation Park.
Scope has continued in this fashion every four years, with the current cycle being 2012/2013.
In late May 2012 American Scouts and their Leaders visited us and joined Canadian Scouting youth and their families for a weekend of fun and friendship. In May of 2013, Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Leaders will be travelling to the Philadelphia area, Pennsylvania. .
